This master´s thesis is focused on creation of micro simulation models of the intersection 28. rijna – Plzenska – Marianskohorska in Ostrava in software PTV VISSIM. The first part describes Ostrava from the traffic point of view and the intersection itself. The material is then processed and analysed (with focus on traffic accidents and conflict situations). The third part of the thesis is traffic - engineering survey and an authentic video record. The next focuses on calculating traffic intensity, the annual average daily intensity and capacity assessment. In the last part, the micro simulation models are described together with a few proposed solutions of the intersection to increase safety and traffic flow in the area. These models are then evaluated and compared. At the very end it is evaluated which solution would suit given intersection the best.
