Abstract

This master's thesis investigates the factors influencing the reliability and quality of large-format FDM 3D printing. The theoretical part describes the process parameters and specifics of large-format 3D printers, specifically the Modix BIG-Meter. The experimental section focuses on optimizing printing parameters for PLA, PETG, ASA, and ABS materials, with an emphasis on bed adhesion, dimensional accuracy, and the elimination of defects such as layer delamination or mechanical collisions. The thesis provides a comprehensive overview of large-scale printing challenges and establishes recommended procedures for achieving high process reliability.
