Abstract

The master’s thesis deals with the issue of microbial contamination of metalworking fluids. The introductory part presents the individual types of metalworking fluids, their functions, and the additives used in them. Subsequently, the methods of supplying metalworking fluids to the cutting zone during machining are described. The next part of the thesis is devoted to the types of contamination of metalworking fluids and the methods used for evaluating their condition. The thesis also includes the design and implementation of a testing medium intended for the cultivation of microorganisms. In the experimental part, the degree of microbial contamination was evaluated under varying temperature conditions and different types of light radiation.
