Abstract
Bílek, Jiří. Research of the properties of weld joints on products made by the SLM method. Ostrava, 2024. Dissertation. University of Mining - Technical University of Ostrava. Instructor: prof. Ing. Petr Mohyla, Ph.D.
The dissertation is focused on researching the properties and microstructure of weld joints on samples made of AlSi10Mg material, which are produced by additive SLM technology. The work aims to unify the structure and mechanical properties of the weld metal with the base material of the alloy from the silumin group ALSi10Mg. The post-processing technologies used are welding and subsequent heat treatment, where the manufactured samples are welded using the TIG method and subsequently heat-hardened at a temperature of 535 °C.
The test samples were made of ALSi10Mg alloy by SLM method and welded by TIG method using AlSi12 filler material. One group of samples was produced in a similar way, where the samples were printed using the SLM method and then processed using the ECAP method, when they were compacted. Subsequently, these samples were welded and then subjected to heat treatment.
After subsequent heat treatment, when the samples were hardened at a temperature of 535 °C and when these samples were aged at a temperature of 180 °C, the hardness was measured. From this measurement, graphs were made that show the effect of the time the material remains at a given temperature and the subsequent increase in mechanical properties. Metallographic analysis and scanning electron microscopy – SEM were also performed on selected samples. The metallographic examination revealed a number of pores, especially in the area of the transition from the base material to the weld metal.
