Abstract
The thesis studies the surface treatment of the substrate to the coating adhesion. The theoretical part describes the properties of the surface, technology of mechanical and chemical treatments before applying the coating system. Additionally, there are described the actual coating systems and their application to the surface of the substrate. The experimental part is focused on the performance and evaluation of the tests of the adhesion of the coating system. This is a comparison of a coating systems based on alkyd resin blended with a three different contents of zinc phosphate pigment - ZP10 in classic micro size. The samples were carried out several tests of adhesion: grid test, cross-cut test and test of the corrosion resistance of the coating system. The best results showed the corrosion resistance coating with the lowest pigment content of ZP 10
