Abstract
This master thesis analyses the fundamentals of the air – conditioning (A/C) measurements. In the introduction there was created the structure of the general A/C systems organised in accordance with their principle and a summary of the essential requirements which these systems have to meet. Also there was created the list of commonly measured quantities of these systems. As an example there was described in detail a modern car A/C system including used components. In the next part of the thesis there is created a summary of the technical requirements of the features, principles, appropriate ranges and required accuracy of the commonly used sensors. In the final part were provided model measurements. The first measurement was provided at the A/C pressure sensor to find out its basic features like repeatability, accuracy and linearity in accordance with normative technical procedures. The goal of the second measurement, provided at the lab A/C system, was to find out the ideal maximum amount of refrigerant required. This measurement needed to determine most of the main functional quantities to control when the A/C system reaches the ideal balance between the highest efficiency of the system and its maximum charge. The performed measurement was used as an experience to develop a better measurement procedure and to provide changes, which increases the accuracy of the measurement of the system. The particular changes carried out and the summary of the results achieved are described in the concluding part.
