Abstract

Master thesis deals with design of forming machine – workshop lever shears with electric drive. Forming machine is designed for cutting aluminium alloys, copper alloys and steel. Introduction of the thesis contains look at theory of cutting with market research which is focused on European market with hydraulic and electric drive. The choice of electric drive is based on force analysis which is made for specified parameters. Design of lever shears is modified to final form which depends on forces, derived by electric drive. Control calculations are made for key elements of lever shears, specifically: pins, plain bearings, rolling bearings. There was also performed a fatigue calculation with use of the FEA at the end of the thesis. The designed workshop lever shears are documented as an attachment in the form of an assembly drawing, crank mechanism assembly drawing and appropriate parts of a crank mechanism.
