Abstract

This thesis concerns design of a tracked chassis for an excavator used for surface coal mining. The first section includes research on wheel excavator tracked chassis. Within the second section possible user of travelling mechanisms with regard to their inclusion in technological units are described. The third section focuses on analysis of tracked chassis loading a 3 900 ton wheel excavator. The fourth section contains basic calculations of tracked chassis drive output. Further, a model of a tracked chassis engineering design has been designer and the concluding section brings detailed drawings of a tracked chassis element and a driving sprocket together with tracked chassis running conditions.
