Abstract
The master's thesis deals with the study of lever type mechanical stopper. It is new,
still unused, active stopper. Goal of this work is to optimize dimensional and material
parameters of the stopper so that it can be used in practice and would meet the requirements
of legal regulations dealing with the given issue. First, an optimization study is performed
in order to find suitable shape for supporting components of the device under investigation.
After the shape was found, the model has been subjected to topological optimization with
the view of decreasing the weight of the device. Final optimized model was tested by the finite element method.
