Abstract
This thesis focuses on the structural design of a walker for the disabled. The walker has been designed to provide the user with the easiest handling, comfort and, most importantly, safety. At the introduction, the thesis describes the effectiveness of such walkers, and also divides them by the design and functionality. The next section describes the material properties and the analysis of appropriate materials. The paper continues with the actual engineering design of the walker, which has been designed as rolling on four wheels, folding with a height-adjustable handle. The thesis includes strength calculations to check the walker design, which should be capable of supporting a human weighing 130 kg. In conclusion, the stability was checked to prevent overturning.
