Abstract

The bachelor's thesis deals with the structural design of the portal crosspiece for a multi-purpose CNC carving plotter. The introductory pages summarize already known and available devices that appear on the market today. Subsequently, variants are created from this available information, according to which the best solution is created that matches and suits the assignment of the bachelor's thesis as much as possible. This solution contains a technical report with a description of the function of the proposed device, drawing documentation, a detailed construction solution of the portal including drives and relevant calculations. The designed working space of the machine is as follows in the individual axes (X, Y, Z): 1000mmx2000mmx200mm. The maximum working speed of the spindle was fixed at 24,000 min-1. This construction design of a CNC carving plotter will be intended for milling wood, plywood, plastic, polycarbonate, aluminium and other soft metals. During the implementation of this work, a functional sample was not made due to the tent parameters, but thanks to working in an engineering company, the knowledge and information can be used for projects in real practice.
