Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of consumer protection in the Czech Republic. The aim of this work is to create a comprehensive overview of consumer protection through current legislation. Subsequently, use a questionnaire survey to assess whether consumers are provided with sufficient legal protection and then propose appropriate recommendations that will help improve the situation. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the definition of basic concepts, the historical context of the protection, outlining the rights and obligations of the entities. Attention is also paid to unfair commercial practices in connection with current legislation and supervisory authorities involved in ensuring consumer protection. The practical part is engaged in research investigation in connection with the knowledge and experience of respondents in order to determine whether consumer protection is sufficient or, if so, what improvement would be beneficial to society.
