Abstract

The purpose of this master thesis is to verify that in addition to the vibration signal, the noise signal could be used to analyze the turbocharger speed as well. When developing internal combustion engines and optimizing them, the manufacturer must monitor a number of engine parameters. One of these parameters is the parameter of the turbocharger. This thesis focuses on the turbocharger and monitoring of its parameters, especially the speed. The speed of the turbocharger with its dynamics moves is not easy to be determined. Therefore, an indirect method was used to determine the rotational speed of the turbocharger using the analysis of the noise signals in addition to the vibration signals and compare them together. Determining the rotational speed of the turbocharger by the noise signals using this indirect method proved its success and can be used along with method of using the vibration signal.
