Abstract

This bachelor's thesis is dealing with fuels quality and their influence on the operation of the combustion engine. Preliminary, there is a focus on the history and the development of combustion engines as well as the development of the fuels quality, followed by the overview of the current fuels types, their requirements and the definition of the standard quality. The examples of non standard quality fuels together with the emission regulations of the combustion engines are mentioned in the next section. The third and last part considers the impact of the road traffic on the environment. The conclusion includes a recommendation how the thesis can be further broadened and supplemented.
