Abstract
This bachelor thesis is focused on monitoring road embankment treatment. The finite element
method software GEO5 is utilized for settlement calculation. The Proctor standard test and
Direct shear box test were performed with a soil sample. The main part of this thesis deals with
elastic modulus estimation of untreated and cement treated soil. Both untreated and treated
samples are used for settlement calculation. The final results are compared and presented
together with practical recommendations.
