The bachelor's thesis deals with the design of a low-floor entrance to the vehicle from a platform with a height of 230-760 mm above the top of the rail in compliance with the required European legislation. The first part of the work is a research, which deals with low-floor railway carriage, their construction and rail transport. In the practical part there is the design of the boarding itself, the calculation of the rolling stock maximum construction gauge accodring to UIC 505-1, the layout of the controls used to open the door and the design of the portal used to attach the sliding step to the floor of the railway carriage.
