Abstract

This thesis is focused on the competitive position of Česká pojišťovna company. Česká pojišťovna, a. s. is a dominant provider of insurance services. It offers assurance in both life and non-life insurance products to its clients. Based on data provided by the brokerage firm, specific position of the Česká pojišťovna, a. s.. among other insurance companies and among particular products has been established. Česká pojišťovna, a. s, is a leader at the insurance market, but the assessment of its products came out on the average. Life insurance is a highly flexible product with a wide range of insurance risks. Building insurance was found out as one of the better products according to the competitive evaluation. Compulsory insurance of motor vehicles fell in the evaluation. It is not affordable, especially for young people. Strengths and weaknesses and opportunities and threats were evaluated using the PESTLE analysis, McKinsey 7S, Porter's five forces analysis and SWOT analysis. The SWOT analysis has also revealed the competitive advantage of the company. Providing a high quality of products according to client requirements, high fullfillment value and enhanced performance of insurance risks, winning the title of Insurance of the year several times and providing client services are included among the competitive advantages. Česká pojišťovna, a. s should focus on its excellence in service providing and insurance payments. Reducing costs, providing bonuses, extending the communication mix and focusing on motor vehicle insurance could be convenient for the company.
