Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on the structural design of an H-type lifting beam intended for lifting a freight railcar. The aim of the thesis is to design a safe and efficient lifting device that meets technical and safety requirements according to relevant standards. The research part describes and categorizes various types of lifting beams used in practice, as well as methods and reasons for lifting railway vehicles. The following section presents the design of suitable components of the H-beam, including material selection. To ensure horizontal positioning of the lifting beam during lifting, a counterweight is proposed. The thesis includes analytical calculations of critically stressed areas, a strength analysis using the finite element method (FEM), and verification of the strength of weld joints of the suspension components. The result is a design of an H-type lifting beam with sufficient strength and operational reliability. The drawing documentation, including an assembly drawing and a manufacturing drawing of a pin with a head, is attached in the appendix.
