Abstract

This thesis deals with monitoring wears of intelligent cutting tools in turning operation. Intelligent cutting a tool is replaceable cutting insert of cutting ceramics based on silicon nitride (Si3N4) with deposited resistive layer. In the first part of this thesis is a theoretical analysis of the experiment, which relates to the issue of cutting tool wear. The following chapter describes cutting ceramics. In next part is processed theoretic analysis system of turning during experiment. And the main part of this work deals with the processing of the measured values and their graphical evaluation. The conclusion summarizes all lessons learned from the experiment.
