Abstract
The master thesis deals with the experimental and numerical analysis of a check valve. The theoretical part of the thesis includes a literature review covering various types of check valves
and their practical applications. Furthermore, the review focuses on the experimental analysis of the check valve, which includes a description of its static and dynamic characteristics, the motion equation of the valve poppet, and the stiffness of the spring. The practical part describes the design of
a hydraulic circuit for determining the static and dynamic characteristics, including all sensors used. The static and dynamic characteristics were determined for a standard check valve and a transparent check valve, which was used for visualization purposes. The characteristics were subsequently evaluated and compared. The practical part also focuses on determining the flow area of the check valve. Additionally, the thesis describes a simulation model of the check valve created in MATLAB Simscape Fluids, including all blocks used. Simulations of the static characteristics were then carried out. The characteristics obtained from the simulation were evaluated and compared with the measured characteristics and those provided by the manufacturer.
