Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the operational efficiency of construction vehicles using telematics and spatial data. It focuses on sensor data acquisition, storage, transformation and analytical processing. The thesis also evaluates data quality and structure, with emphasis on completeness, consistency and suitability for further analyses. Based on engine status attributes, speed and tachometer values, the operational efficiency of trucks is assessed. The thesis further verifies the potential of spatial analyses for evaluating vehicle position, routes and speed behaviour and also includes a pilot web map application for tracking asphalt transport. The results show that telematics data provide a usable basis for analytical and visualization tools in a construction company environment, while also confirming limitations related to data quality and the heterogeneity of the monitored fleet.
