Abstract
The master thesis deals with the design of three types of an inducer which is placed in front of a single-stage spiral centrifugal pump. The first chapters describe the concept of cavitation and explain the term inducer. In the following chapters, the inducer design process itself is described in detail. The proposed geometry was verified by numerical fluid flow modeling in ANSYS CFX. Based on the evaluation and comparison of the inducers characteristics, the most appropriate of them was selected and a CFD analysis for the inducer and radial impeller of a pump assembly including cavitation calculation was performed.
