Abstract

In this thesis are simulated cases of an airflow around train. Simulation results are compared. Based on this comparison are proposed solutions for air drag reduction and modified current formulas for train driving resistance calculation. Introductory part of thesis is focused on comparison of different kind of transport and their advantages, disadvantages and energy consumption. In next step thesis is focused on train movement theory, especially on driving resistance with air drag and rolling resistance definition. Then is described airflow theory, measure and model making methods to find out airflow influence on train's air drag. In practical part is proposed each simulation model and processed simulations results.
