Abstract
The diploma thesis deals with methodology of inducer design with variable pitch. The introductory part is devoted to the theory of centrifugal pumps and cavitation. Further, an accompanying experiment on a Venturi nozzle is described. Basic theory of inducer is then presented, followed by a description of the mathematical models of turbulence and cavitation commonly used to solve CFD problems in this field. The main part of this work consists of inducer design methodology for a specific application using a series of formulas according to literature, and CFD analysis. Finally, the CFD analysis of the parameters of the pump functional unit with inducer is evaluated, where the main attention is paid to the cavitation calculation in order to determine the entrainment curves. Attention is also paid to the comparison of calculations using ANSYS CFX and FLUENT software (influence of different combinations of boundary conditions and number of phases).
