Abstract

The bachelor thesis utilizing literary studies describes the issues of volumetric forming. The thesis also deals with the topic of designing forgings produced by closed-die forging. Subsequently, the thesis proposes a gear forging made of 16MnCr5 steel produced by closed-die forging. The forging will be carried out on a vertical forging press LZK 4000 B, which is capable of exerting a forming force of 40 MN. Part of the bachelor thesis is also the technological process of production of gear forging and simulation of the proposed procedure of closed-die forging. The closed-die forging of the gear forging is divided into three operations: upsetting, pre-forming, and final forming.
