Abstract

This work presents a design of a track undercarriage for drilling rig used for glass sand extraction in a quarry. The introduction describes the state-of-the-art track undercarriages available on the market, categorizes them and provides the description of basic components. Then the engineering design requirements are specified and the most suitable constructional solution is elaborated. The work also presents the calculations used to design and check specific components of the undercarriage which are necessary for the whole design. Software analysis based on the finite element method was used in order to check the undercarriage strength. Finally, the technical description which follows the detailed technical documentation is presented.
