Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the practical use of personal identification through a fingerprint scanner. In the introduction, it acquaints the reader with the theoretical aspects of biometric identification of individuals, with an emphasis on fingerprint identification (dactyloscopy). Furthermore, the project focuses on the analysis of various fingerprint scanners based on their operating principles. The outcome is the design of a software environment for implementing an attendance system that be compatible with a selected fingerprint scanner.
