Abstract

This thesis deals with development and testing of jet engine transport aircraft. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part introduces the development of jet engines after World War 2. The next part deals with the development of jet engines applied to transport aircraft. The second part focuses on the development of methods for testing jet engines. The final part deals with the comparison of requirements imposed on jet engines today and in the past, and it includes a conclusion.
