Abstract

The bachelor’s thesis deals with the design of an oil pump for a Tatra 87 passenger car. In the introduction, a theoretical part is elaborated, which deals with the description and history of a concrete car. The following chapter deals with the description of the lubrication system, their components, types of oil pumps and their functions. The fourth chapter describes the lubrication system and oil pump of the Tatra 87. At the same time, the material differences from which the pumps were manufactured in the 1930s are described. The next two chapters deal with the identification and modification of the oil pump. This modification increases the performance of the oil pump. It includes a table containing all the necessary parameters for production and calculations. Chapter 7 contains calculations confirming the theory of increasing the volume flow and power input of the pump. The following chapters show and describe the graphic design, including performing strength analysis using the finite element method. The last two chapters show a graphic design model and production process of an oil pump.
