Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis focuses on an experimental comparison of the performance of high-feed milling tools from Dormer Pramet s.r.o., TaeguTec Ltd., and DIAEDGE Co., Ltd. The main objective of the thesis is to evaluate the functional properties of a newly developed prototype tool with indexable inserts, model WNMU 080618SR-M-P1, and tools from competing manufacturers, which were subjected to functional tests on a ZPS MCV 1060i vertical machining center during the machining of X38CrMoV5-1 steel. The measurements evaluated the influence of cutting conditions on surface roughness parameters (Ra, Rz) and machine spindle load. The measurement results demonstrated that the tested tool exhibits high stability and an optimal balance between surface quality and machine load.
