Abstract
Thesis is dealing with structural design of road vehicle brake systems. First part mentions legislative requirements which are necessary for granting a homologation. The work also includes a summary of current constructional adjustments and new constructional solutions of brake systems. Next part compares conventional and regenerative brake systems by analyzing the stress in brake disc using the Finite Element Method in ANSYS software. The output of this analysis contains thermal stress, total strain and the Von Mises stress in the brake disc. Finally, there is tabulation of results carried out in Excel and comparison of the cost of acquisition and maintenance of these systems.
