Abstract
Master thesis deals with problematics of boiler feed water pump cold start. Theoretical research focuses on power plant problematics, construction, operation and regulation of boiler feed water pumps, physics transfer laws and current state of research of boiler feed water pumps cold start. Practical part consists of CFD calculations. First part of CFD simulation is devoted to isothermal flow of demineralized water in feed water tanks. Three tanks and five flow types are examined. Results provide information about pressure loss and water velocity profile. Second part of CFD simulation deals with nonisothermal flow of demineralized water in feed water tank. Three cold water inlet types are examined in relation with chosen boiler feed water pumps. Results provide information about time dependent cooling trend on defined places. These results are evaluated for possible use in practice.
