Abstract

The thesis deals with consideration of residual stresses influence in calculations by finite element method. Firstly, there is theory of residual stresses introduced followed by measurement methods. The residual stresses measurement methods description focus on the hole drilling strain gauge method that is normalized by ASTM E837 – 08. The following chapters explain incorporation of residual stresses in finite element analysis which are then applied to solve real practical problem from engineering practice. The problem is residual stresses emerging from the processing technology which influences the production of rolls for rolling mills.
