Abstract

The thesis is focused on the gender equality problematics in the labor market in the Czech Republic. It will describe the factors that significantly influence the gender salary differences in the labor market. The first part will be focused primarily on the causes of gender differences in the labor market, where we deal with discrimination, basic concepts such as discrimination, gender stereotypes, segregation and ways of measurement. It will explain the tools aimed at reconciling work and family life. The second part deals with the employment of women from the perspective of Czech history and analysis also assesses the current status of men and women in the Czech labor market. Another section contains tools which contribute to equality between men and women. Based on the analysis in the last part are contained the proposals and recommendations which could contribute further to improve equality of men and women in the labor market.
