Bezpečnost provozu ultralehkých letadel

Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the safety of ultralight aircraft operations, focusing on the risk of inadvertent entry into instrument meteorological conditions (IMC). The aim of the work is to evaluate this risk and, based on experimental measurements, to propose measures to increase aviation safety. The theoretical part defines the legislative framework for ultralight aircraft operations at international, European, and national levels, and analyzes data from the Air Accidents Investigation Institute. It also explains the psychophysiological mechanisms, particularly spatial disorientation, which lead to human factor failure upon the loss of visual reference. The theoretical foundation is supplemented by a brief technical description of the flight simulator used and the experimental methodology, which defines the monitored parameters and the measurement procedures. The practical part includes an experiment conducted on a flight simulator at the Transport Institute of VŠB-TUO, involving 15 ultralight aircraft pilots. These pilots were tested in three scenarios differing in the availability of avionics and the extent of pre-flight briefing. Based on the results obtained, recommendations for adjusting the training curricula of the Light Aircraft Association of the Czech Republic (LAA ČR) are formulated.
