Vybudování platformy studentů vysokých škol zabývajících se otázkami rozvoje města Ostravy

Abstract

A proper determination of regional development currently plays an important role. Determining the targets of regional development is an important factor in supporting competitiveness of individual regions. Regional agents take an importnat part when formulating the main aims of development. Residents can be included among the agents as well. A significant part of residents in Ostrava is made up of local universitiy students. The aim of the thesis is a suggestion to create a platform of university students dealing with the city development issues. According to the author, the suggested platform’s task should be to create a document which would include the students opinions on the development of Ostrava. The aim of the thesis was reached through handing out questionnaires where the main issues, as perceived by the students, were identified. The gathered data were included into categories containing the main areas of urban life. These categories form the thematic basis of the proposed university students platform. In the final chapter the author decribes and identifies the reasons for the platform to originate.
