Diploma thesis is focused on grooving and parting of stainless steels. It is divided into two parts. The theoretical part shows characteristics of stainless steels and their machinability. Furthermore, a review of the current state of the parting process is focused on cutting tools and their wear. The practical part is focused on experimental testing of cutting conditions of prototype tool based on development of machining tools in DORMER Pramet s.r.o. company. As a conclusion of these tests were determined ideal conditions for parting off of stainless steel by changeable cutting tools made from sintered carbide with PVD coating with regard to their productivity.
