Abstract

The thesis entitled E-learning and his Implementation in the Health Insurance Company was elaborated at the department of System Engineering at the Faculty of Economics at VŠB Technical University of Ostrava. The central point of this work is the process of implementation of an e-learning system with the posibility of its further utilization in Revírní bratrská pokladna, zdravotní pojišťovna. Analysis of the present state of education in the health insurance company evaluates current situation and decides whether it is convenient to apply another form of education than contemporary classical education to this environment. It is also suggested possible alternative of utilization of e-learning with respect to the current status and need of the organization. The thesis is focused on the selection of appropriate software (LMS) to manage the education and also on design and development of a pilot course for the economic department of the health insurance company through selected e-learning system. The intention is to show that introductory course enriches current education by other options, elements and ideas that e-learning offers. The beginning of the thesis is devoted to theoretical knowledge of educational process. Next parts deal with ways of education in different types of organizations and their methods. Then it pays attention to the history and development of e-learning, its advantages, disadvantages and trends. The chapter that follows is devoted to the characteristics of Revírní bratrská pokladna, zdravotní pojišťovna its function and position in the Czech health care system. After reviewing the existing educational system in the organization the previously mentioned selection and characterization of a suitable e-learning software for the pilot course is presented. The construction, function, structure content and other characteristics are analyzed in detail. The last part of the thesis is focused on the evaluation of the benefits of the created course with respect to its future potentional use in the health insurance company. The course was made in LMS Moodle, whose license is provided free of charge. The only cost is related to the operation of the system, ie. human resources that will provide e-learning, authors and tutors (teachers) who will manage the courses. The course content is based on the study materials that I have got by personnel of information system department and the personnel department of Revírní bratrská pokladna before the execution of a work. Although the course is ready to use at this time it is just the first e-learning education created for the economic department. Courses created for other departments could serve as a source of impulses for its subsequent improvement.
