Abstract
Dissertation thesis consists of complex study on the design of the cooling device designed for application hypothermia. Dissertation thesis contains basic information, all the calculations and simulations that are necessary for the design of devices operating on the principle of thermoelectric cooling. The construction of the device was based on patent n.303114 and requirements, which represented the ideas of experts from the University Hospital Ostrava. The practical result of the dissertation is a realistic model of the cooling device for the head of the newborn, which allows comfortable distract from the human body heat to induce hypothermia. The main aim of the design was to upgrade some of the functional characteristics and eliminate the disadvantages of existing devices, especially their immobility and dependence on ice. During design concept I was trying to achieve simplicity and practicality, while the exterior design was conceived as a secondary matter. In solving the problems were used methods of creativity and advanced engineering techniques and technologies such as computer simulation and digital prototyping, 3D printing and 3D scanning. There have been many computer simulations, in order to select the most appropriate alternatives of solve. The device was worked into a form in which it can be used for testing in laboratory conditions. Device has been experimentally verified. For safety and ethical reasons was not designed devices tested directly on a living object. It is not demonstrated whether the use of the proposed device to induce a state of mild hypothermia in the brain. It is a device with high added value, because most of the components of this device is completely original and have been designed specifically for this device. Individual functions of the device were laboratory tested. They were designed and realized experiments by which the theoretical results was verified in practice. From an economic point of view this is a new commercial product with innovative use properties, which has basic characteristics and potential to succeed in the market.
