Posouzení nehodovosti na vybraném úseku dálnice před a po modernizaci

Abstract

This bachelor thesis evaluates the impact of the D1 motorway modernization on road traffic safety in a selected section between EXIT 29 Hvězdonice and EXIT 182 Kývalka. The theoretical part describes the history of the motorway, technical parameters of the modernization, and statistical methods used for accident rate assessment. The practical part focuses on a comparison of traffic accident data from before the modernization (2012/13 season) and after its completion (2023/24 season). The methodology employs the Poisson distribution to determine the probability of accident occurrence and the Reinhold index to evaluate the severity of their consequences. The results of the analysis demonstrate that despite the increasing traffic intensity, the severity index decreased by more than 66% after the modernization, and previously high-risk sections were significantly mitigated. The thesis confirms the high effectiveness of the implemented technical measures in increasing traffic safety.
