Abstract
The topic of my bachelor thesis deals with the force effect of a jet from a nozzle on a perpendicular
plate. The assignment consisted of a theoretical introduction, at the beginning of which I described the
basic equations of hydrodynamics, such as the Continuity Equation, Euler's equation of hydrodynamics
and the momentum change theorem. Then examples of the force action of a flowing fluid based on
momentum change are given. The practical part consisted in modifying and putting into operation a
measuring device that had not been used for a long time. A description of the measuring device, its
elements and their specific parameters, the measurement procedure and data evaluation are given.
Then I made my own measurements of the force effect of the water jet on the perpendicular surface
for nozzles of different diameters. In the last part I dealt with the evaluation of the obtained results
and their comparison with theoretical assumptions.
