Abstract

The master thesis deals with a proposal of the primary measures to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by injecting steam into the gas burners of the boiler K3, in Teplárna E2, ET a.s. The subject of the technical solution is the adjustment of steam injection to such an extent that trouble-free operation is achieved due to the new emission limits of NOX content in the flue gas. The work includes tests of the effect of NOX emissions on the amount of injected steam and verification tests before and after the modification of the steam injection nozzle. The first part describes the parameters of fuels, boiler and installation of steam supply for injection into the burners. The second, theoretical part deals with the analysis of nitrogen oxides and how to reduce their formation during combustion. The third, practical part, deals with measuring the dependence of NOX production on steam injection and on the amount and combination of fuels. The fourth part contains stoichiometric calculations of fuels and calculation of boiler efficiency.
