Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the design of a supporting steel structure for an air handling unit located on the roof of an industrial hall. The introductory part briefly describes the fundamentals of steel structures and air handling systems. Subsequently, an analysis of loads acting on the structure is carried out, including the self-weight of the unit, snow load, and loads from service walkways. Based on these loads, a structural design is proposed, including the selection of suitable steel profiles and the design of bolted connections. The design also includes service elements such as walkways, guardrails, and access stairs, with emphasis on safe operation and maintenance. The correctness of the proposed structure is verified using numerical analysis based on the finite element method, which is used to assess deformation, stress distribution, and overall structural safety. The result of the thesis is a functional and practically realizable steel structure that meets the requirements of relevant technical standards.
