Abstract
The issue of maintenance management system changes in current business ventures arises from pressure for economic optimization of all business operations and for the improvement of business results. A system based on repair after failure, accompanied by high costs and losses from production downtime, is no longer sustainable in the current competitive environment.
Implementation of TPM (total productive maintenance) is an inevitable process. Although the TPM system is used in a number of studies, there is a lack of experience with its implementation, and in particular with the introduction of economic analyses. This dissertation addresses the mechanism for evaluating the contribution of TPM in business enterprises. It indicates losses resulting from the current maintenance management system in use, and demonstrates the effect of modern methods of organization of maintenance work. It addresses the theoretical aspects of evaluation of the two systems, as well as a practical method for the implementation of change in a particular company.
