Abstract

The thesis evaluates the contribution of virtual reality to training in the use of portable fire extinguishers. Two groups were compared in the experiment. The control group completed only theoretical training, while the experimental group additionally underwent practical training on the FLAIM Extinguisher device. Both groups subsequently extinguished a real fire. Performance was assessed using six subjective and two objective criteria, and electrodermal activity and heart rate were also measured. The experimental group achieved a higher score (52.27 vs. 44.33) and higher extinguishing efficiency (0.576 vs. 0.325). The Mann-Whitney U test did not confirm significance due to the small sample and an error by subject P12. After excluding this subject, significance was confirmed for efficiency (p = 0.017; d = 2.040), extinguishing technique (p = 0.002), and movement (p = 0.011). Physiological data suggest habituation. The results support VR as a supplement to traditional training, though replication on a larger sample is required for generalization.
