Abstract
This thesis deals with monitoring intelligent cutting tool wear in turning operation. Intelligent tool is replaceable cutting insert of ceramics based on silicon nitride coated with TiN which is deposited resistive layer. In the first part of this thesis is a theoretical analysis of the experiment, which relates to the issue of cutting tool wear and wear mechanisms. Furthermore, it also explores the distribution of ceramics. In the second part contains an analysis of the system SNOP (machine, tool, workpiece, medicine) and parts that were used for the experiment. The main part of this work deals with the processing of the measured data, the graphical evaluation depending on the wear of time. The knowledge gained from the experiment are summarized in the conclusion.
