Abstract

This thesis deals with the design and kinematic analysis of the seven-stage planetary gearbox Shimano Nexus 7 SG-7R46. The introduction includes an overview of former and present bikes and gears. The following diagram describes the main gear parts, gear analysis, and evaluation of angular speed of the individual sections of the gearbox. This follows the functional description of all gear components including an explanation that demonstrates the principle of gear shifting of each individual gear. The final part includes stress analysis of selected gears and shafts. This thesis is additionally documented by a drawing of the gearbox.
