Abstract
Diploma thesis contains the structural design of air duct in rail vehicle situated centrally in the roof section. The theoretical part of diploma thesis focuses on general air flow theory, air conditioning function and norms, shapes possibilities and solutions from existing rail vehicles. Last section contains the most using duct materials. The practical part first includes design of the section called K1 and its design variants followed by description of resulting construction with strenght calculation of the screw connection and strenght analysis using the finite element method. Next part contains full description of design of the section called S1, as a connection between section K1 and the hole in the roof part. Last part is devoted to airtight connections and fixation connection of the individual sections. Drawing documentation is also enclosed with the thesis.
