Abstract
This master's thesis deals with the issue of hardness in the functional components of pinch trim and cutting tools used for thermal insulation and acoustic elements in passenger and commercial vehicles. The aim of the thesis was to achieve the required hardness values using selected technologies, specifically laser hardening and weld cladding. A cutting fixture with modified geometry for certain functional parts was designed to accommodate both tool variants, including their geometric complexity. Both technologies were applied to the fabricated cutting fixture. Finally, the hardness measurement results were evaluated along with a metallographic analysis.
