Abstract
This thesis deals with management of the General Health Insurance Company. The teoretical part describes the financing of health care in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, there is described a system
of public health insurance and health care financing methods.
The theoretical part is a description of the organization
and administration of the General Health Insurance Company. Development of insured, as the main indicator of economic health insurance is also included in the theoretical part. The practical part focuses on the analysis of the individual compulsory establishment funds, especially for basic health insurance fund. Analysis
of the Basic Fund is made in the years 2005 - 2010. Aims work comprises also an analysis of the Prevention Fund as a instument
to prevent competition in health insurance. The last chapter deals with the identified deficiencies in the management of the General Health Insurance proposals and possible solutions.
